MEHDI YAGHMAEI

Born August 12, 1976, in Mashhad
Singer, Instrumentalist, Arranger, and Composer of Iranian Pop and Pop-Classic Music

Mehdi Yaghmaei discovered and nurtured his singing talent during his teenage years. In 1993, he began playing the piano and training in traditional Iranian vocal techniques. His maternal family hails from the city of Shahrud, where he held his first independent concert in 2000. After years of mastering traditional Iranian singing, he gradually shifted his style, and by 2001, he entered Iran’s professional music scene with a unique approach that blended traditional and modern influences.

In 1995, Yaghmaei started his academic studies at Shahrud University, graduating in 2000 with a degree in Applied Chemistry. Early in his career, he collaborated with the band “Javan,” releasing a 12-track album featuring popular songs such as Dokhtare Bahar, Saye, Delam Tange, and Setareh Joon.

From 2014 onward, Yaghmaei served as a judge on the television program Shab-e Kook and has taught advanced vocal techniques for many years. His discography includes albums like Javan, Ye Donya Harf, Chamedoon, and countless singles. Notable highlights include performing the theme song for Mahe Asal in 2011 (Khos Mikonam Toro), the song Az Man Chera Ranjidei, and composing Tekyeh Bar Baad for Mohammad Esfahani.

He has contributed extensively to television and film soundtracks and was the first artist to perform a live concert on Iranian television during the 2012 Nowruz holiday.

A significant milestone in his career was his role as the soloist in concerts led by the late Master Nasser Cheshm Azar. He also maintained a longstanding collaboration with Armin Gheytasi, the conductor of Nasser Cheshm Azar’s grand orchestra, solidifying his place among Iran’s most accomplished musicians.
